At 02:19 AM, Sunday morning, August 11th deputies from the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a home invasion at a residence on Jones Road in southern Cleburne County. The victim, eighty-nine year-old Annie Brooks, contacted a family member and related that she had been awakened during her sleep to see an individual standing over her with a gun. Mrs. Brooks said she had been threatened with a handgun and had been tied up, and could hear what she believed to be more individuals in her house other than who had tied her up. Investigators were contacted and worked throughout Sunday and Monday identifying and locating the suspects. By late Monday evening five individuals had been arrested and nearly all the property reported stolen had been recovered. Tanner Adcock, age 19, of Heber Springs, Zackery Smith, age 19, of Heber Springs, and BobbyLee Pointer, age 19, of Bald Knob, and two Juveniles have been charged with Aggravated Residential Burglary, Kidnapping, and two counts of Felony Theft of Property. Adcock, Smith, and Pointer are being held at the Cleburne County Jail and the juveniles who are being charged as adults are currently being held in the White River Juvenile Detention Center in Batesville. Bond will be set at $200,000 each.
