Missing Greers Ferry Woman Located on National Forest Service Road

A 76 year old Greers Ferry woman reported missing Wednesday afternoon was located by a motorcyclist on a remote National Forrest Service Road in Saline County Thursday afternoon.

Viola Sedlacek had been last seen by a neighbor driving away from the area of 555 Narrows Drive, Greers Ferry on Tuesday morning and was believed to have been going to a doctor’s appointment in Little Rock. After the Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that she did not arrive at her scheduled appointment, had not returned home and had not had contact with any family member, a Silver Alert was issued through the Arkansas State Police and Ms. Sedlacek was entered into NCIC as a missing person.

At the time she had last been seen, Ms. Sedlacek was driving a dark blue, 1998, Chevrolet Venture van, Arkansas license plate 641-JNI. The license number of the vehicle had been obtained by investigators who contacted the Cleburne County Tax Assessors Office, where the Vehicle Identification Number had been recorded at the time Ms. Sedlacek assessed the vehicle.

Ms. Sedlacek was found lying on National Forest Service Road 75, by a motorcyclist      in the Ouachita National Forest near Hot Springs on Thursday. Her van was located parked and locked in the area where Ms. Sedlacek was found. The National Forrest Service was contacted and Emergency Services was dispatched to the location. Ms. Sedlacek was transported to Saline County Memorial Hospital in Hot Springs where she was treated and released on Sunday.
